Frequently Asked Questions

What ingredients are in Hu chocolate?

Hu milk chocolate bars contain unrefined coconut sugar, cacao, grass-fed milk, and cacao butter. Each flavour of Hu chocolate bars then contains additional, all natural ingredients for flavour, from roasted almond pieces and almond butter to cashews and hazelnuts. The Hu dark chocolate bars don’t contain milk, but have all the same ingredients as the milk range, with the addition - in some cases - of fruits like raspberries.

Are Hu Kitchen chocolate products organic and fair trade?

Hu Kitchen are certified organic by the Soil Association (the UK's leading organic food and farming charity) and the EU, with all of their chocolate using organic cacao. All of the products in their range are also fair trade.

Are Hu chocolate bars vegan friendly?

Not all Hu chocolate bars are vegan friendly. The milk chocolate bars - as the name suggests - are not vegan, although they do use organic, grass-fed milk. The dark chocolate bars, however, are vegan as they meet the requirements set forth by The Vegan Society. In addition, all Hu chocolate products are certified gluten free.

How do Hu chocolate bars' nutritional values compare to traditional bars?

Hu chocolate bars typically have fewer calories, less saturated fat and more fibre compared to traditional chocolate bars. For a portion size of 30g (about half a bar), Hu chocolate bars provide 180 calories, 8g of saturated fat and 3g of dietary fibre. In contrast, traditional chocolate bars often contain more calories, higher levels of saturated fat and less fibre per serving. Additionally, Hu chocolate bars contain 9g of sugar per serving, which is also lower than traditional bars.
