Are yoga blocks worth it?
The short answer is yes. Yoga blocks are helpful for beginners - or if you haven’t built up the flexibility for certain poses - as they act as an extension of your arms. As with other yoga props, they can also be used to build strength for more advanced postures and poses, as well as support your back, head and hips.
What size is a yoga block?
Yoga blocks come in a range of sizes but the most popular size is 30.5cm x 20.5cm x 5cm. The best prop size for you depends on your weight, flexibility, and the the size of your hands.
How many yoga blocks do I need?
You only really need one or two yoga blocks. Most of the time, you’ll probably only need one, but two blocks can offer more support which means that you can attempt a wider range of poses during your yoga and wellness sessions.
Should I choose a cork or foam yoga block?
Yoga blocks can be made from foam or cork, and even bamboo or wood. Cork yoga blocks are the eco-friendly choice, as they are made from renewable, biodegradable and recyclable material. However, these yoga props do absorb sweat more easily, meaning that they need to be cleaned more carefully. Foam blocks, on the other hand, are often cheaper than cork blocks, as well as more durable and lightweight. Due to this, they are best suited to restorative yoga classes.
