SURI’s Recycled Soap Dish transforms 18 returned brush heads into a functional, design-led bathroom essential. Created in partnership with Reborn in the UK, this first edition piece brings discarded materials back into use through a considered recycling process.
Each dish features subtle textural variations, which means no two pieces look exactly the same. The recycled composition gives the surface a distinctive finish while maintaining everyday practicality for holding soap or solid bars.
Recycled Soap Dish reflects a community-driven approach to material reuse. The limited production run highlights its exclusive nature, with each piece representing a small step towards reducing waste and extending material life.
The Recycled Soap Dish turns used SURI plant-based brush heads into something practical and long-lasting. Since 2022, SURI’s community has returned over two tonnes of brush heads through a free recycling scheme, and a partnership with Reborn transforms this material into minimalist soap dishes made in the UK. Each dish contains material from eighteen returned brush heads, and natural variations in the recycled blend mean no two pieces look exactly the same. This circular approach connects oral care with everyday self-care and gives waste a renewed purpose.
SURI addresses the pressing issue of toothbrush waste, with over 4 billion ending up in landfills or oceans annually. Electric toothbrushes only worsen the problem with plastic components and unrecyclable batteries. Their toothbrushes on the other hand, are designed with the planet in mind, using innovative bio-based materials like cornstarch and castor oil to reduce plastic waste. The sleek aluminium body is lightweight and durable, with components designed for reuse to minimise waste.
