OMGTea’s AA Grade Matcha Tea shines thanks to its origin in the Kagoshima prefecture, on the southern island of Kyûshû, Japan. The warm, humid climate and nutrient-rich volcanic soil, fed by eleven active volcanoes, create perfect conditions for cultivating premium organic matcha. With a rich history of over 700 years of tea cultivation, Kagoshima is Japan's second-largest tea-producing region, especially noted for its high-quality organic matcha.

OMGTea’s cultivation involves shading plants with bamboo for three to four weeks before harvest, reducing sunlight by 90%. This technique boosts chlorophyll production, enriching the leaves with amino acids and turning them a vibrant emerald green. Only the youngest, tender leaves from the top of the plant are picked, steamed, and freeze-dried. The highest quality leaves are then ground into super fine matcha powder using granite stone mills in a meticulously controlled environment, taking over an hour to grind just 30 grams.
