Meet Eleanor Hoath

Meet Eleanor Hoath

Eleanor is a registered Nutritional Therapy practitioner with a special interest in skin, gut and hormonal health.

We asked 5 questions to help gain a better understanding of how health plays a role in Eleanor lifestyle.

1) Eat, move, mind or sleep - which is most important to you?

A: For sure it would have to be eat. I am a 'foodie' but have always been a firm believer in the saying 'you can't out run your fork' and passionate about a healthy body being built in the kitchen. The foods that we eat also have a knock on effect to our bodies natural body clock which impacts our sleep and movement anyway! Having said that, sleep is very very precious to me, and ensuring I get a good nights sleep is also important to ensure that I am making the best food decisions too. Did you know a poor quality nights sleep can impact your hunger hormones the next day!

2) What’s your favourite wellness ritual?

A: I have recently started scheduling 'me time' into my diary. We all say how important self-care is, but between zoom calls, social plans and life commitments, it's easy to miss out on quality time. The pandemic taught me the importance of time for myself so I now ensure that I put it in my diary once a week. It could be a bubble bath and face mask night, cooking myself a nourishing dinner or taking myself out shopping for the day.

3) Talk us through your day before 9am.

A: As a Nutritional Therapist, my diary can vary and be very busy so I always like to make sure I start the day slowly. I get up at 6:15 and enjoy a warming drink, at the moment I'm really enjoying Cacao with organic collagen powder and MCT oil, will write my intentions for the day and (when time allows) do a 10-20 minute yoga flow or walk to get my body moving. I'll then have my breakfast and get ready for the day! Packing your bag the night before and prepping your lunch box is a top tip to allow yourself to have a slow and relaxed morning!

4) In what place do you feel healthiest?

A: The pandemic taught me the importance of being in nature, especially in the spring/summer months. I love long walks through the fields when I go back home or when taking a trip to the British Countryside. Stopping off for a delicious brunch and feeling the sun on my skin.

5) How did your health journey begin?

A: After living with a host of unexplained symptoms including digestive upset, hormonal acne, anxiety attacks, I didn't understand what was happening to my body and why these symptoms were happening. I thought this was just the way I was and started excluding a long list of foods that I thought were the cause. Socialising became difficult and as a self-confessed foodie my diet became restricted and depressing. I'd seen numerous doctors over the years, sharing my concerns and issues with them.

Each time I was given a new pill or another cream to reduce the symptoms, without ever getting to the root cause of my problem. I researched everyday when I came across Naturopathic Medicine, and started to make small and steady changes to my lifestyle. I enrolled at the College of Naturopathic Medicine to study Nutrition Therapy and the journey began. I discovered a new outlook on healthcare and got to the bottom of my symptoms, regaining my health. Now I support clients in my own clinical practice Well Nourished Nutrition to support and empower my clients and patients to do the same.
