NIOD is proudly cruelty-free, but not every product is vegan. NIOD never tests on animals and is certified cruelty-free with the trusted Leaping Bunny standard. When it comes to vegan status, some formulas are vegan and some aren’t, with full transparency at product level so you can choose with confidence. However, NIOD’s parent group is actively working towards full vegan certification across the brand.
NIOD skincare products are happiest stored somewhere cool, dry and out of direct sunlight. A bathroom cabinet is fine, a sunny windowsill is not. Most formulas are designed to live comfortably at room temperature, but popping them in the fridge won’t do any harm (with a few clearly marked exceptions).
NIOD formulates with carefully tested ingredients, but its products haven’t been specifically tested on pregnant or breastfeeding people. If you’re expecting or nursing, it’s wise to steer clear of any formulas containing retinoids, including retinol and retinoid-based treatments.
