Peet's Coffee, founded by Alfred Peet, was born from a mission to revolutionise American coffee. After working as a tea taster in Indonesia, Mr. Peet fell in love with the deep, rich flavours of dark-roasted coffee and sought to bring this exceptional flavour to the United States. Shocked by the poor coffee he found upon arriving in San Francisco, he opened his own shop in Berkeley in 1966, focusing on freshness, quality beans and handcrafted roasting.
