The Naked Pharmacy's Saffrosun Energy differs from Saffrosun Calm in one ingredient. As well as the all important saffron extract, the vitamin D3 and prebiotic, Saffrosun Energy contains iodine instead of vitamin B12. The iodine is sourced from marine algae. It helps with efficient energy utilisation and metabolism and also supports optimum cognitive, thyroid and nervous system function. 95% of the clinical efficacy of Saffrosun relates to the three high strength saffron bioactives (crocin, saffranal & picrocrocin), the concentration of these are identical in the two formulations i.e. 3.5%, with the daily dose of 2 capsules providing 30mg of saffron extract. The Vitamin D3 and Baobab prebiotic contained within the tapioca capsule shell are also the same in both formulations. As this formulation contains iodine it should not be used if taking iodine supplements and it is not suitable for those with an overactive thyroid gland. It is suitable for those with an underactive thyroid gland who may be receiving thyroxine therapy. Saffrosun contains the highest strength of potent bioactives at a strength of 3.5% of all three active components (crocin, saffranal & picrocrocin) per capsule, which have been proven to improve emotional balance, reduce tiredness and fatigue, and promote restful sleep. This formulation of Saffrosun contains naturally sourced marine algae, high in natural minerals and iodine. Iodine is an essential component in supporting efficient energy utilisation, cognitive and thyroid function and a healthy nervous system. This is sustainably harvested around the remote islands of the Scottish coast and then carefully dried and milled to ensure a high quality and nutrient rich algae.
