The biohacking world is booming… but it’s also brimming with hype. From miracle powders to “reverse your age” promises, the wellness space can feel like a mix of cutting-edge science and clever marketing. Chris Mirabile, founder and CEO of NOVOS, is on a mission to cut through that noise and his brand is built around one core principle: evidence first, hype never.
In this exclusive Q&A, Chris shares his personal story, daily routine and the biggest myths he’s debunking in the longevity space, plus gives us a glimpse into the future of human healthspan.
Q: How did your previous experiences shape your view on health and aging and ultimately lead you to create NOVOS?
“When I was 16, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Though I’d already been interested in health and fitness for four years, that moment forced me to completely re-evaluate my approach to wellness and shift my focus to longevity and disease avoidance. I never wanted to be in the same position again.
I started asking deeper questions beyond fitness and nutrition, and in my twenties, I dug into research around the biological root causes of aging and chronic disease. What I found was that aging itself is the number one risk factor for nearly every major disease. If we could slow aging at its source, we could improve not only how long we live, but how well we live. That insight was the seed that grew into NOVOS.”
Q: What is the core ethos of NOVOS and how does it stay grounded in actual science?
“NOVOS exists to give people the tools to live longer, healthier lives - grounded in rigorous science. Every ingredient we use is backed by dozens of peer-reviewed studies and recommended by top aging researchers. Each formula is supported by hundreds of studies and a deep understanding of the biological pathways it targets.
But we go further. We run our own clinical and lab studies at top-tier universities to validate how our formulations perform in combination - something 99% of supplement companies never do. Most supplements don’t work well together. In some cases, they can cancel each other out or even cause harm. We’ve even cancelled entire product launches at great expense when they didn’t meet our science-first promise.
We also provide free AI-driven technology tools to the general public, like the NOVOS Life app and the FaceAge facial age algorithm. These resources help people understand where they currently stand when it comes to their long term health, and guides them on a research-backed journey for much better health.”
Q: You’ve reduced your biological age by 37%. What does this mean and how have you measured and validated this?
“Biological age is a measure of how healthy your body is at the cellular level. It’s more accurate than chronological age for predicting healthspan and long-term disease risk. I’ve measured mine using multiple methods:
Epigenetic, proteomic and metabolomic clocks
Blood-based biomarker tests
Physiological markers (like VO2 max)
AI-powered facial aging tools
They all converged on the same result: a biological age roughly 37% younger than my chronological age of 41. This isn’t magic or genetics… it’s the result of years of consistent effort across nutrition, supplementation, exercise, sleep, stress management and daily habits.”
Q: What’s in your current longevity stack or wellness routine?
“My core stack starts with the full NOVOS protocol:
NOVOS Core: for targeting all 12 hallmarks of aging simultaneously
NOVOS Boost: for NAD+ support
NOVOS Vital: for organ optimisation
I also eat two NOVOS Bars per day, which allowed me to stop taking taurine, astaxanthin, functional mushrooms, olive oil and a multivitamin as separate steps in my routine.
Post-workout, I add a plant-based protein powder, omega-3s and electrolytes on intense cardio days. My diet loosely follows a Mediterranean approach with longevity-focused tweaks.
For training, I do 4-5 weightlifting days, 2-3 running sessions (including VO2 max work), and one bike ride per week. I adjust rest based on recovery data from my Oura Ring.
The fundamentals are always the same: prioritise sleep, eat real food, train for strength and mobility, get sunlight, invest in relationships, live with purpose and manage stress.”
Q: What simple steps can people take right now to improve their healthspan?
Prioritise sleep… it’s foundational.
Move every day… even short walks matter.
Eat minimally processed, plant-heavy foods.
Supplement only with evidence-backed products from trustworthy brands.
Manage stress through meditation, breathwork or time in nature.
Stop believing aging is out of your control. Your daily choices matter more than your genes.
“Unless you’re exercising intensely or losing fluids rapidly, constant electrolyte supplementation really isn’t necessary. Plain water works perfectly when paired with an electrolyte-rich diet. Need more electrolytes? Add a pinch of salt and eat potassium-rich fruits and vegetables.”
“The claim that “we are the first generation that won’t die” might sound poetic, but it’s not scientific. While some organisms, like the “immortal” jellyfish can avoid senescence, the biology of simple species doesn’t translate to complex organisms like humans. No credible scientist believes otherwise.”
“Headlines love this phrase, but scientifically, you can only slow biological aging or reduce biological age indicators by improving your cellular health. Aging is natural and there’s no magic button to reverse it.”
“Social media is a double-edged sword. It can educate and build community, but it also amplifies misinformation and flashy trends that distract from what works. At NOVOS, we break down complex science in plain English and always cite our sources. It’s not the most viral approach, but it’s the most honest.”
“From epigenetic reprogramming to AI-driven health recommendations, innovation is moving fast. At NOVOS, we’re building a closed-loop health system that combines personalised data (from our NOVOS Age blood test, FaceAge facial analysis and NOVOS Life app) with tailored formulations like NOVOS Core, Boost and Vital to help people actively improve their biology and track progress in real time.”
“I want NOVOS to be the gold standard for science-backed longevity across education, supplements, diagnostics, and digital health. We’ve already helped hundreds of thousands of people slow their pace of aging, reduce biological age and boost health, but we’re just getting started.”
Aging doesn’t start at 65… it starts now. Investing in your longevity in your 20s and 30s isn’t about fearing death; it’s about enhancing your energy, mood, cognition and physical capacity for decades to come.
“Personally, it’s reclaiming my health and using my second chance to help others do the same. Professionally, it’s seeing everyday people (not just influencers or early adopters) achieve life-changing results through our products and community.
The bottom line? Longevity isn’t about magic bullets or viral hacks. It’s about consistent, science-backed habits that keep you younger for longer.
